Apache is running super slow Xampp / Wamp / Stand-Alone

Recently, I found that my apache running super slow, as I do my most of the developments on the local host this was an unacceptable, and I know there is no good reason for this. And finally I figured out this is coming from my hosts file.

In there a line of code for 127.0.0.1 to some strange ip address fortunately I found it is not malicious and it was my previous ip address some how entered automatically there.

I remove that line and add following to it.

## Localhost
127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1

127.0.0.1 localhost

And now it is working super fast. For your knowing this is a little guide to windows, it says if I'm tries to go to localhost just redirect me to 127.0.0.1, not to any other address.

Fix An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request Wordpress Error

This error can happen either your default timeout limit is not enough or.
If you're developing on localhost, may be your firewall blocks the apache http.exe server.

If your site is hosted on a web server, and you see the error message 'An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request' after requesting a page on WordPress Admin Dashboard and you are getting this error frequently on your dashboard, then it means you have to increase the wordPress timeout limit for every request. To do that

Open your FTP Client software
locate the file "class-http.php" inside "wp-includes" folder.
And find the code "'timeout' => apply_filters( 'http_request_timeout', 5)" and change the timeout limit to 30. (5 --> 10)

If you're developing on localhost then, and if you see this error mean your server software being blocked by the firewall or you dont have an active internet connection. To fix this,

Make sure your connection is active (probably you checked already)
And make sure server software in not blocked. In my case, it is httpd.exe (Apache HTTP Server) This is only required if you're accessing to the internet for something like plugin installation and, etc....

Get Current File Name using PHP

One of the most important features of style sheets is that they specify how a document is to be presented on different media: on the screen, on paper, with a speech synthesizer, with a braille device, etc.

Certain CSS properties are only designed for certain media. Stylesheets for different media types may share a property, but require different values for that property. For example, the 'font-size' property is useful both for screen and print media. The two media types are different enough to require different values for the common property; a document will typically need a larger font on a computer screen than on paper. Therefore, it is necessary to express that a style sheet, or a section of a style sheet, applies to certain media types.

all -- Suitable for all devices.
braille -- Intended for braille tactile feedback devices.
embossed -- Intended for paged braille printers.
handheld -- Intended for handheld devices (typically small screen, limited bandwidth).
print -- Intended for paged material and for documents viewed on screen in print preview mode.
projection -- Intended for projected presentations, for example projectors.
screen -- Intended primarily for color computer screens.
speech -- Intended for speech synthesizers. Note: CSS2 had a similar media type called 'aural' for this purpose.
tty -- Intended for media using a fixed-pitch character grid (such as teletypes, terminals, or portable devices with limited display capabilities). Should not use pixel units with the "tty" media type.

Notes:

Media type names are case-insensitive

Specifying media-dependent Stylssheets

Specify the target medium from a style sheet with the @media or @import at-rules.

Why Action Hooks?
Let's think there is no concept called Action Hooks. When we wanted to change or extend some function of WordPress then probably we wanted to change core files of wordpress installation. And when it comes time to upgrade wordpress, you'll have to recoding all the modifications you have done to prior version files, or you'll have to stick with the old version.

What are Action Hooks.
When it comes to above type of scenario wordpress action hooks are become more handy. For an example let's take very common wordpress action like "wp_head" or "wp_footer". Using action hooks, we can execute a function when certain wordpress action(action we define in hook) execute.

For an example, I need to perform my function "addNewCss" when wordpress action wp_head encounter. To do that simply I can use wordpress hooks

Install Wordpress in a different Directory other than root directory

Why:
1. Security Reasons (No one can find your wordpress files unless they are pretty smart)
2. Keeps your root directory clean.

Create a folder inside your root directory "public_html" and need to be long and un-guessable "HelloDirecotryName"
Export wordpress package into it
And Move the files index.php and the .htaccess to the root directory
Next open index.php file and change

require('./wp-blog-header.php');
…to this
require('./helloDirecotryName/wp-blog-header.php');

5. Now every time you login to your system you'll have to use exact path http://mywordpressite.com/HelloDirecotryName/wp-admin/
6. Once you login to your dashboard go to Settings >> General Settings and ensure

Site address (URL) http://mywordpressite.com/

Install wordpress on localhost(Own Computer) with WAMP

Complete guide to install wordpress locally (localhost) with wamp

Download and unzip the WordPress package
Install WAMP and open phpmyadmin
Create a DATABASE for wordpress (CREATE DATABASE wordpress_db)
Open WWW folder (inside wamp installation directory)
Unzip wordpress package there
Rename the wp-config-sample.php file to wp-config.php
Open wp-config.php in a text editor
Locate the following

define('DB_NAME', 'database_name_here');

/** MySQL database username */
define('DB_USER', 'username_here');

/** MySQL database password */
define('DB_PASSWORD', 'password_here');

9. Fill with appropriate settings

Find $table_prefix = 'wp_'; and create a unique prefix (I always love to do so, normally I use wordpress version $table_prefix = 'wp_305'; )

12. Now run wp-admin/install.php using a web browser (in my case http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php )

13. Opened window create

site title
User Name
Password
and Your E-mail (password recovery)
Uncheck "Allow my site to appear in search engines like Google and Technorati" (as you on localhost)

14. Click Install

15. Now if it is successful(as it should), you'll be able to login to your wordpress dashboard via login link

Setting a Password for user 'root' WAMP

Once you may installed wamp it gives this error (As it does ever time)

"Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole by setting a password for user '.root'."

To fix this you have to set "password" for user "root" (default it hasn't any password)

Open phpmyAdmin( where this error occur)

click Privileges tab
Select user 'root' and Edit privileges

In next opened window locate "Change password"

Select radio "password" and type your password and make sure retype it too and click "GO"

Now we have to configure "config.inc.php" for phpmyadmin otherwise we won't be able to access our mysql databases via phpmyadmin as it default comes with no password but now our mysql server expecting a password from every application that want to connected to it.

Locate the config.inc.php file in my case it is in the directory "c:\wamp\apps\phpmyadmin3.2.0.1"
Find "$cfg['Servers'][$i]['password']" and type your password there "$cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = 'yourPassHere';"
Save

and we done

Change your Laptop Processor Easily

It's is not difficult to changing a laptop processor once the laptop is disassembled. The most challenging thing about working on laptops is the small size of the components. It's also very easy to reassemble parts in the wrong order.

Most laptop manufacturers have detailed diagrams and manuals that explain how each component fits in the housing. The laptop owner's manual also has information about the kind of processor you need for your particular model.

1) Before start you need to refer your laptop owner's manual and assembly guide as you disassemble the laptop. Touch something metal periodically to remove static charge, and work on a large table with a bright light source.

2) Turn off the laptop and unplug it. Remove the main battery, CD/DVD drive and the hard drive. The hard drive is usually located in a slot on one side of the laptop. Remove the screw that holds the cover in place, and then pull the hard drive sled out.

3) Turn the laptop over and remove the screws on the bottom that hold the keyboard in place. Some of the screws may be covered with stickers or rubber plugs. Flip the laptop over, open it, and then lift the keyboard up and out. Unplug the flexible ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the motherboard.

4) Unplug the heat sink fan. Remove the screws that hold the heat sink in place, and then remove it from the laptop. Release or unscrew the mechanism that holds the original processor in place, then remove it from the laptop.

To remove the CPU there will be a screw with a padlock symbol, or a bar that you pull up to unlock the CPU from the socket

5) Apply a thin layer of thermal compound on the processor. Make sure it is securely attached and properly aligned in the CPU housing.

Note: Be very careful with the pins, they can easily be bent, and match the pin set, there is a pattern and match this pattern to the socket. Also CPU should fall easily into the socket DO NOT force it.

Next lock that into place, and on top of the CPU put a small pea sized amount of thermal paste, Arctic silver is good.

6) Now replace the heat sink and fan. Replace the screws, then plug the CPU fan back in.

7) Connect the keyboard to the motherboard temporarily. Plug in the laptop, restart it, and then follow the instructions in your owner's manual to enter the system's BIOS. The new CPU should now be recognized by the BIOS. Turn off the laptop, unplug it, and then remove the keyboard. (BIOS will detect the new CPU, and windows will install the new drivers)

8) Do not strip or over-tighten the screws. Follow the guide carefully as you reassemble the laptop. Replace any round stickers or rubber plugs you removed to complete the upgrade.

Note: speech enhancer can deteriorate the quality of your audio. 5. Know your noise gate.

The noise gate is your key to absolutely silent pauses and crystal clean audio. What the gate will do is take all noises under a certain level and turn them down however much you tell it to. If you find that your desirable audio never gets any quieter than -20dB, you can tell your noise gate to turn the recording down any time audio is not exceeding -25dB.

In other operating systems might you see there is an option available in right click menu for coping and moving files easily without navigating by opening windows.

When you right click on a file and select Copy to Folder or Move to Folder, there will be a window will pop up and let you choose a location to either copy or move the file or folder to.

With windows operating systems you can implement the same thing via simple registry hack, you can either do this by manually or downloading the files which I have given at the end.

1. First open the registry editor by typing "regedit" at run (Start -->run)

2. Then as we do usual, back-up your registry for just in case.

DELETE, REMOVE POST IMAGE BORDERS IN BLOGGER

1. As we usually do Login into Blogger and Navigate to Layout and then Edit HTML
2. Before do any changes backup of your existing template.

You can see the new tag cloud widget live in action in right hand side of my site.

Tag-Cloud Setup:

Go to "layout" >> Click on "add a Gadget" and select "labels" widget. If already you have installed the label widget check it you can see new options which we going to discuss here.

Set the title and next simply select Show All Labels if you need to show all labels assigned to your blog posts or select ratio button "Selected Labels" to show only specific labels selected by you.

With the "Selected Labels" there is an “Edit” option, click it and select what labels you need to display and click done.

With the "Sorting" option we can decide whether we needs to display labels "Alphabetically" or "Frequency". As I love to frequency manner in my site I'm going with that but it’s up to you to decide which is most suited for your site.

Check "Show number of posts per label" to show post count which is assign with every label. Congrats you're done with your new tag cloud click to save and see how it’s working :)

Spice up your Tag-Cloud:

K this is a little trick if you carefully check my tag-cloud you may notice every label is separated with a "|”, what I have done is edit the widget content in "Edit HTML" page.

1. Go to "Edit HTML" page check "Expand Widget Templates" and search for (Ctrl+F)

2. There are two separate code sections you'll find. What you need to do is add a " | " end of the above code. Please remember as there are two code sections you have to add " | " twice.

3. After done with the editing save the template and check whether it’s perfectly working or not. Check twice and Leave me a comment if it is not. :)

Advantages:

Easy to setup, no additional configurations.
No slowdowns.
No need to add external java scripts.
And last thing is it’s working perfectly ;)

Disadvantages, nothing find yet.

Flash Animated Label /Tag-Cloud Widget for Blogger Method 2

“Blogumulus” is an Flash based tag cloud widget which uses script converted from Roy Tanck’s WP Cumulus plug-in for WordPress. You need to move your mouse over the Flash object to see the animation is begin.

Mechanism
This widget uses a combination of JavaScript and Flash animation to parse and display blog labels. To see Blogumus in action, both Flash and JavaScript must be installed and need to be enabled in internet browser. However those who do not use JavaScript of Flash (including search engine spiders) still can see this and label links will be clickable though not animated.

Installation
You need to copy and paste a section of code to your Blogger template, though any tweaks for the style of display will require some manual editing.

Here are the steps required to install Blogumus in your Blogger layout:

1. Go to Layout >> Edit HTML in your Blogger dashboard, and search for the exact section where you want to install the tab cloud. Blogger section is the part which holds widgets (Gadgets) and it begins with <b:section.

You need to find the exact place which you need to be installed the tag cloud. Here I’m assuming in your blog has a section called sidebar and you need to install the Blogumulus before every other widget.

2. Find the sidebar section (normally every blog template contain sidebar however some are not, it is depend on the template which you use).

4. Save template and preview if the tag-cloud installed correctly, you should see the tag cloud appear in your sidebar before any other widgets.

5. Customizing the Tag-Cloud
The default installation, Blogumulus includes the following preset variables:

Width = 240px
Height = 300px;
Background color = white
Test color = grey
Font size = “12″

And do not hesitate to change other variables until you get the most suited one for you. I love experiments.

A tag cloud or label cloud is good replacement for form of regular labels widget in blogger.

1. In the Page Elements page, add a Labels Widget as you normally do there and (Add a widget>> labels)
Sort the labels alphabetically when prompted.

This is quite similar approach to feed burner subscriber counter on your site which is encouraging for new subscribers.

Add Email This Post Link / Form to Blogger Blog

The advantage of having "Email this Link" on each post of your blogger post is, this prompting users to share what they saw with friends or keep it in their mail box for feature reference. In both cases, we are getting advantage of a flooding traffic.

"Email this" is not nor quite similar to "subscribe by email link" which users subscribe to your feeds. Email this only emails the single post chosen by reader.

Add Email This Using Blogger Own function:

So far, this is the easiest method to append an email button to the end of each post.

In Blogger "Layout" navigate to the "Page Elements" tab.

Print button facilitates visitors to print a hard copy of a post and keep it for feature reference.

Printing the whole site along with side bars is disadvantage and inefficient.

So in here I was mainly concern on printing the article along with comments but not including sidebars.

Add a Print Button.

In your blogger account goes to "Edit HTML" page and before make any changes take a backup of your template.

Now you can do create icon files using JPG, PNG and BMP free and easily. Imagicon is a small utility to convert any image into icon format with simple drag & drop. You need to drag any JPEG / BMP / PNG image into Imagicon application window to get same image saved as ICO icon format.

It just not a converter for ICO files it can handle JPG, PNG and BMP conversions also however by default it is set for ICO files and most of the times I use if for do that only, so I called it as an ICO converter.

With the Gmail it is possible to send Emails using another Email id by setting up the custom ‘from’ option in your Gmail account.

Let’s say you have Gmail account and your mail id is MyMail@gmail.com, and you want to send emails with different email id like MyMail@CustomDomain.com. However Google allow you to use only email ids that you own and Google sends you an email to verify every mail id before allowing you to use them.

First Sign in to your Gmail account and click ’settings’ at top right of the screen.

Click on ‘accounts’ tab & check for ‘Send mail as’ option.

Now click ‘add another email addresses.

Enter other email address you want to use and Google will send you a verification mail to that account.

Setting up to “Reply-to address” will allow you to receiving replies to another mail account you like.

Note:
When you are sending with a different ‘from:’ address, your Gmail address will still be included in your email header’s sender field, to help prevent your mail from being marked as spam. However except Outlook, most email clients don’t display the sender field!

Email header:

Each email you receive comes with headers. The headers contain information about the routing of the email and the originating IP of the email. Not all emails you receive can be traced back to the originating point and depending on how you send emails determines whether or not they can trace the email back to you.

The headers don't contain any personal information. At most, you can get the originating IP and the computer name that sent the email.

The originating IP can be looked up to determine from where the email was sent. IP address location information DOES NOT contains your street address or phone number. It will most likely determine the city and the ISP the sender used.

Get the email header:

Each email program will vary as to how you get to the email options. Here is the summarized list of most common Email programs.

Outlook

Right click the email while it's in the inbox and choose Message Options. A window will open with the headers in the bottom of the window.

Windows Live Mail

Right click the email while it's in the inbox, choose Properties, and then click the Details tab.

Gmail

Open the email. In the upper right corner of the email you'll see the word Reply with a little down arrow to the right. Click the down arrow and choose Show Original.

Hotmail

Blogger custom domain not working, it giving me an error message the blog is not available. However I can login to my blogger panel (Dashboard) and do editing and publishing posts. Only thing in site not appear via custom domain.

With Super Hiding and Unsearchable feature it’s impossible to reveal any hidden file or folder in normal way. Files and folders will completely hide.

1. First open the Windows command prompt.
For that Go to START -> RUN and type CMD

2. In DOS prompt go to the location where the file or folder exist you need to hide.

Hiding Folders:

For a hide folder, you just need to type its name with the command given below. Replace the Folder name with the actual name of the folder you’re going to hide.
Now type

attrib +h +s FolderName

and press enter.

Hiding Files:

For files, you have to type the extension with the file name and hit the Enter.
Now type

attrib +h +s ‘FileName.Extension

and press enter.

3. To bring it those hidden files to normal state, type

attrib -s -h FileName

What is a computer Virus?

A computer virus is just a computer program. But the behavior and purpose of making this type of programs is quite different for a normal program.

The word “Virus” has become a common term a lot of people use to refer to worms and Trojans too, which is not exactly correct.

Virus -

A computer program that is capable of attaching to disks or other files and replicating itself repeatedly, typically without user knowledge or permission.

Some viruses attach to files so when the infected file executes, the virus also executes. Other viruses sit in a computer's memory and infect files as the computer opens, modifies or creates the files.

Some viruses display symptoms, and some viruses, damage files and computer systems, but neither symptoms nor damage are essential in the definition of a virus; a non-damaging virus is still a virus.

Virus is designed to spread from file to file on a single pc, it does not intentionally try to move to another pc, and it must replicate, and execute itself.

Worm –

Unlike viruses worms are do not infect other computer program files. These are parasitic computer programs and replicate by creating copies on the same computer, or can send the copies to other computers via a network. Often spread via IRC (Internet Relay Chat)

A worm doesn’t need a host file to move from system to system, whereas a virus does. These are copy itself (intentionally move) from pc to pc, via networks, internet etc.
Worms spread more rapidly than viruses.

Trojan Horse -

Trojan horse is a malicious program that pretends to be a benign application a Trojan horse program purposefully does something the user does not expect.

Trojans are not viruses since they do not replicate, but Trojan horse programs can be just as destructive.

Dynamic IP Address vs Static IP Address

Computers use IP addresses to locate and talk to each other on the Internet. It is the unique identifier of a computer on the net.

A dynamic IP is an address that is assigned your computer temporarily by ISP when you connect to the internet.

For the duration of you connected it will remain the same IP address but when you disconnect and reconnect you will probably be given a new (different) IP address. The IP address you had before will be given to someone else.

A static IP address is an IP address that is assigned to you computer by an Internet service provider (ISP) to be its permanent address on the Internet. Every time you’re connected the same IP address will be assigned.

If you need to make your dynamic IP address into static IP probably you have to contact your ISP (Internet service provider) and ask them for assign you a static IP. So you can have an IP address permanently assigned to you which you can use every time you are connected.

Making your IP address static cannot done yourself because an IP address needs to be globally unique, you can't just pick one for yourself as you desire. It needs to be assigned to you by your ISP.

Advantages of having Dynamic IP:

1. If you have a hole in your firewall and a dynamic IP, then every time you disconnect and reconnect any hacker who found you by your IP address on the first visit, will much more difficult to find you again because your address will be different.

3. Override Time limitations which are depend on the IP address (I.e. Rapidshare).

Advantages of having Static IP:

POP account is an account from which we retrieve the mails from the mail server.

POP stands for "Post Office Protocol". IMAP means “Internet Message Access Protocol”.

These are the standard interfaces between an e-mail client program and the mail server.

How to find the Gateway Address and Subnet Mask?

If you’re a windows user and willing to know what is your gateway address and subnet mask then here you can proceed with my article.

Gateway Address

Gateway address is the next hop to which a packet goes to whenever the destination subnet is not present in the routing table for that specific packet.

It can be manually configured in the connection's TCP/IP properties or automatically assigned by the DHCP server.

Subnet mask

A subnet mask allows you to identify which part of an IP address are reserved for the network and which part is available for host use. If you look at the IP address alone you can't tell which part of the address is which. Adding the subnet mask, or net mask, gives you all the information you need to calculate network and host portions of the address with ease.

The subnet mask can allow you to easily calculate whether IP addresses are on the same subnet or not.

Finding Gateway address and subnet mask is pretty easy and below I discussed how to find those up to operating system windows XP Pro.

Adding a RAM (Random Access Memory) is one of the easiest way for speed up your computer. It is a pretty cheap way to make your old computer a lot faster.

Adding RAM is easy. Here how you can do it by yourself, pretty simple.

Get the Right Type of RAM

First all you have to do is find out how much RAM memory capacity does your motherboard support for installing, how much each slot can take and how many RAM slots it has.

Best and easy way for doing this is get your motherboard manual and read, if you lose it go to your motherboard manufactured site and easily you can find out the information about your motherboard.

Installing RAM Memory

Every computer has at least two RAM slots located near to microprocessor. Sometime you need to unplug inner cables for make some space for installing the new RAM. Unplug any cable carefully and remember to where those are connected, most of the time you’ll have to unplug the cables of hard drive, cd-rom and floppy.

Again remember how those are connected and don’t be afraid that is the most important thing here.

Remove the RAM from its anti-static bag and hold it by the edges to have as little contact with the working parts as possible.

In RAM slot you can see two locks at edges of both sides, dilate them and let’s begin with installing process.
Line the memory up with the motherboard slot. You can see there is a small gap middle of the RAM. Line up the RAM as it best fitted with the RAM slot and check the middle gap to ensure you’re installing RAM correctly.

Now gently and then increase the pressure until the memory goes into the slot and fitted. Make sure that the memory is seated correctly. Both locks we dilated before should lock automatically. RAM should be fitted properly into ram slot unless it will be burn.

Again check your RAM and make sure you installed it correctly, Replace all the cables you have unplugged and close the case.

Boot your computer back and windows will automatically detect the installed RAM and start using it. Again make sure your new RAM is working go to system and check whether the windows identify your newly installed RAM correctly.

AVAST and AVG both are popular antivirus programs which you can have for free, although for fully protection you have to buy them. ThreatFire another useful program for detect “trojans” (special kind of spyware that hides itself from normal antivirus scanners) and eliminate completely.

Disable Programs Uses More Resources

To find out which program or programs are using up the resources, open the Task Manager

Right click on task bar >> Task Manager

In process tab check the “CPU” column, this column will show you CPU usage of all the processes currently running on your pc. Easily you can determine which processes that are eat more CPU resources and disable it if the process is not important.

The Different between Video - CD Format Types

There are many different types of formats for movie files. Some of them are SVCD, DivX, XviD and etc.

May be these formats confusing you but you don’t needs to worry much about those because players like K-Lite code pack and etc has the ability of rendering many of these types without leaving you much concern about the format.

However knowing about these types and why they stand for will be useful you to getting know the different of the quality, size, possibility of creating them and etc between these types.

Many people are daunted when go through these different formats! Here some of the most common formats and I have explained briefly about each of those. Furthermore you won’t be confusing.

VCD format is based on mpeg1. Constant bit rate of 1150bit, at a resolution of 352x240. The main use of VCDs is to make the file smaller, and to fit as much on one disk as possible.

SVCD

The SVCD format is based on mpeg2. Something similar to DVDs, and allows varied bit-rates of up to 2500kbits at a resolution of 480x480, which is an improvement over the VCD format.

VCD/SVCD

The format VCD/SVCD are capable of much higher resolutions and bit-rates. All depends on the player to whether the disc can be played.

DivX / XviD

DivX format is designed for multimedia platforms. DivX uses two different codecs high motion and low motion.
Note: The majority of DVDs players won't play DivX.

DivX Re-Enc

DivX re-enc is basically a film that was taken from the original VCD source and then re-coded as a more compact DivX file. The quality isn't good at all.

Many number of different file extensions out there. Probably most of the time you’ll confuse how to handle some file extensions and which programs are really supporting for those.

In here I’m trying to heap up most common file extensions with their supporting programs.

Compressed Files

File Extensions: .rar .001 .zip .ace .7zip .cab .tar .lah

These files are known as compressed files. Using compressor files can make smaller. You can use WinRAR, PowerArchiver, WinZip or WinACE to extract and read.

.cbr .cbz
These are usually compressed comic books. You need CDisplay to open them.

Multimedia Files

CD Image Files

File Extensions: .bin .cue .ccd .img .sub .iso

Very common image extensions of CDs. Power ISO is the popular one for handling iso files and Nero is most popular for handling many of these types.

Programs like Alcohol 120%, Daemon Tools and power iso can create virtual drives and facilitate you to insert these images like normal CD without burning.

.mds .mdf
These are called as Media Descriptor Images and you can use Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% to mount them also it is possible to burn them into a CD. Alcohol is the most popular one for this.

How to Clean your Computer Mouse Step by Step Guide

Tweezers
A can of compressed air
Cotton swab
Rubbing alcohol

Cleaning your mouse:

Unplug the mouse from your computer (mouse has to be connected to the back side port of your computer)

Turn the mouse upside down.

Locate the plastic ring that holds the mouse ball in place.

Using both thumbs, rotate the ring in the direction of the arrows until it won't turn any further. If you don't have arrows, just turn it whichever way it will go.

Pick up your mouse and pour the ball and ring into your hand.

Set the ring aside and wash the ball under lukewarm water.

Set the ball aside and let it air dry.

Carefully remove any lint and debris with the tweezers. (You can use a couple shots of compressed air to remove some stubborn lint from the inside of your mouse.) Use caution to keep the can upright so you do not spray moister into your mouse.

There can be many errors occur after installing a new software for a PC. However there are three common types of errors that can be appearing in any computer system because of the incompatibility or not proper installation of software.

Mostly many of errors can be occur after installing system utilities and drivers than a normal software. Generating almost endless list of errors that can be caused by any of the below reasons.

Reinstall or uninstall the program

Utorrent Eliminate Fake Peers and Make use the Ipfilter Feature

When downloading big files using torrent you may notice you received huge amount of wasted data too.

Every so often, you will have received more wasted data than the size of the files you are downloading and this data has been discarded after being deemed corrupt or invalid by torrent client.

This is because Anti-P2P organizations are actively polluting P2P networks with fake peers, which sends fake and corrupt data in order to waste bandwidth and slow down file transfers.

There is also a much more serious side to this. Once you established a connection to one of these fake "peers", your IP has been logged and will most likely be sent to the RIAA/MPAA!

This is why there is a feature called IP filtering option in the utorrent. Easily we can block all of these fake peers and speed up downloads and avoiding the receiving many of garbage data.

First we need to retrieve a list of currently known Anti-P2P organization IPs. We can easily do by downloading the Bluetack fake peers list. nipfilter.dat.gz

Extract the .gz file and rename the ”nipfilter.dat" to "ipfilter.dat"

Next thing we needs to make this file available in utorrent, for that go to run and copy the exact word %AppData%\uTorrent and press enter.

Start-> Run and type %AppData%\uTorrent

Now copy the ipfilter.dat file into the opened folder and restart the utorrent.

Verify that the ipfilter list is properly loaded into utorrent by switching logger tab

There should be a message something similar to this.[2009-05-08 23:05:49] Loaded ipfilter.dat (247768 entries)

Good habit:
Check updates of this file for the newest fake peers at least once a week.

As Google ignores the +mark and all the letters after it, there is a chance for receiving mails for your accounts.

Most of the people doing this for collect rapidshare points.

Easily anyone can create bigger flies of desired amount and upload.

First we have to do some calculations,

Open your calculator (Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Calculator)

Changed the mode to Scientific (View >> Scientific)

Lets say you want to create a 100MB file, multiply the 100 by 1024*1024 (Ex. 100*1024*1024 )

(You’ll get the answer as "104857600")

If the size is 200MB then multiplication will be 200*1024*1024

Now convert the answer to Hex for that click the radio button at the left side and answer will be "6400000"

Now we want to make it as eight digit number, for that add zeros to the left edge until answer become 8 digit. If the answer is already 8 digits skip this step and go to next step. (Ex. "06400000" – 8 digit number)

From this point we are moving on creating the file using DOS prompt.

Now start the command prompt. (Start>> run and type cmd)

Change the directory to where you want to create your file or just press C: for change the path to C partition.

Type "debug MYFILE.DAT"(without “”) and press enter. You’ll get a message "File not found"

Type "rcx"(without “”) and Enter.

Again type the last four digits of the value we got (Hexadecimal format) Ex. 0000

Now type "rbx"(without “”) and press Enter.

Again type the first four digits of the Hexadecimal value and press enter. Ex. 0640

Type “w” (without “”) for write the file to hard drive.

Again press type “q” to exit...

Now check the location where you set to create the file, you’ll see there is a file called MYFILE.DAT created. Now compress that file using any compression utility you’ll be amazed.

Method 01:

By default windows set to use 20% of your bandwidth. This could be disadvantage. So if there is a way for avoid this that will be useful.

Microsoft reserve 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes (suspect for updates, interrogating your machine and etc...)

Here is the way get it back:

1. Go to start >> Run >> and type “gpedit.msc” (without “”)
This will open the policy editor.

2. Navigate to “Local Computer Policy” >> “Computer Configuration” >> “Administrative Templates” >> “Network” >> “QOS Packet Scheduler” >> “Limit Reservable Bandwidth”

3. Right click on Limit Reservable Bandwidth and select properties. In settings tab check “Enable” and set the Bandwidth limit to 0 and click apply.

"By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default and set it to zero."

Here is another way you can implement the same thing, in my computer I tried both these methods and both are work pretty well.

This is very cool and simple VBS application which you can prompt windows SAM to read any text you’re entering to the application.

Windows will speak everything which you have entered to the application hence we are creating.

1. First copy the below code in to a notepad

Hide Hard Drive Partitions in Windows XP

Hiding Hard Drive partitions in your computer would be useful when you want to hide huge staff something like movies. Even though if we use folder locker or any other method there are many chance to getting know by someone about that.

Anyone can easily find out that we hide something in our hard drive using folder locker.

Also if sometimes you need to hide big stuff which nearly fills your one of hard drive partition, so the best way is hiding the whole partition and gets back it whenever you need. After hide windows not be able to read it until you unhide the partition. But data will be remaining the same.

Hide Hard drive Partition:

1. Go to start >> Run >> and type DISKPART

2. A DOS prompt will be appear, with the “DISKPART>”

3. Now type “list volume” (without “”)

4. Now there will be a list appear like below.

5. Now let’s say you need to hide stuff in drive 4, type "select volume 4" (without “”)

6. Now there will be a message appear “Volume 4 is the selected volume”

7. Then type “remove letter F"
(Remove letter drive4letter)

8. Again a message will appear “DiskPart removed the drive letter, but your computer needs to be rebooted before”

Restart the computer and the driver F will be disappearing.

Get Back the Hidden volume:

Repeat the process and after selecting the volume 4, type "assign letter F" instead of “remove letter F” and your drive will be visible again.

Change Background Image & Text Color of Folders Windows XP

In windows XP there is no such an option for changing background and text color of the folders. However we can change the folder background and text color by editing Desktop.ini file (folder configuration setting file).

As well as you can use freeware utility called Windowpaper XP for changing the folder attributes (background, text color) and both these methods briefly discussed here.

You can use any desired way you like and result will be same.

Using Desktop.ini file:

Creating Desktop.ini:

1. Go to any folder you like to customize.

2. Right click and select “customize this folder”

3. Select change icon and select any desired icon and click ok. This will create the file Dekstop.ini, but still it won’t visible to you.

Make it visible:

In folder select Tools >> Folder Options >> select View tab >> check “show hidden files and folders” and uncheck “Hide Protected Operating System files”

Now in your folder file called Dekstop.ini should be visible.

Customizing Desktop.ini:

Open it using notepad or WordPad (any desired text editor)

Add below code.

Click save.

Customizing Image and color:

iconarea_image=imagepath

iconarea_text=0xFFFFFF

You can change the color code FFFFFF by changing these 6 digits with any desired color code. First 2 Digit is BLUE, then the next 2 is GREEN, last 2 digit is red RED.

How to Create Undeletable Folder in Windows XP

In previous article I wrote about creating folder locker which can hide and protect your files inside it with a password.
This time I thought to write about creating undeletable folders.

These folders can be deleted in Dos prompt only. So normal computer users will not be able to delete these folders.

To creating and deleting both processes we have to use DOS prompt which you can start by type CMD at "run"

Click Start >> Run and type CMD for start DOS prompt.

Change to the directory that you want to create your folder.

If you're not familiar with dos prompt simply you can create folders in any of your hard drive partition, for that just type hard+drive+letter: (Ex. C: , D: )

Then type "md \aux\\" without quotes marks and hit enter.

A folder called aux will be creating in your selected partition.

Try to delete in normal way, it will give you an error message whenever you try to delete it. There are many other names which you can use for creating folders.

lpt1 to lpt9 ( Ex. md \lpt1\\ )

AUX

For delete these folders again open DOS prompt and navigate to the directory which you have create the folder

Type rd \aux\\ and press Enter. The folder should be deleted.

Which I’m going to discuss today about creating folder guard software by our own will include most functionalities same like other similar products.

Change the part of the coder “Your PASSWORD HERE” as your desired master password.

And save the file as .bat file. Extension should be .bat (Ex. Locker.bat)

Click on it and you can see there will be a folder is created name called “locker”

Again click on the locker.bat, this time it’ll ask you to lock the folder “locker” press “Y” and hit enter.

Folder called locker will be locked and invisible.

Delete Files Permanently Without Moving to Recycle Bin

In Windows Operating system place a copy of every files or folders that you are deleting in the Recycle Bin. Whenever you're deleting something in your computer using Delete key or selecting delete option in right click mouse options as a safety purpose deleted file or files will be move to recycle bin.

Pressing Shift+Delete buttons at the same time for deleting can stop files moving to recycle bin. But still you may interesting to know any other way than Holding Shift key and pressing delete key for complete file deletion.

This tip would be time saving, although if you use this should be very careful if not you can delete your important files accidentally.

Follow the path "User Configuration" >> "Administrative Templates" >> "Windows Components" >> "Windows Explorer"

Locate "Do not move deleted files to the Recycle Bin" and right click on it and open property window. Check “Enable” and press “Ok”

Enabling this setting files and folders you are deleting using delete key or simply selecting the delete option in right click menu will not move to recycle bin. All will be permanently deleted.

There is a virus not new but still struggling to most of people out there, which affect to the hidden files and folders. Your hidden files and folders never come up again even you trying to changing the show hidden files attribute in windows folder option.

This is really annoying which never enable you to see your files again, it seems all are dead most of people bother with this matter even after cleaning the computer with good antivirus nothing happen even the virus is removed.

Here is the complete solution for that. First of all you need eliminate the virus from computer, still you haven’t any good antivirus my suggestion is try AVG free one and clean the computer with newest updates. This will remove virus but still your folder not be visible.

Next thing is open the registry editor (go to "start" > "run" and type "regedit")

Follow the path given below:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL

Find keys:

CheckedValue REG_DWORD 0x00000001(2)
DefaultValue REG_DWORD 0x00000002(2)

Double click on "CheckedValue" and change the value from "2" to "1"

Ex: CheckedValue REG_DWORD 0x00000001(1)

And Restart the computer, you are done!!

But you should note phishing is not limited to rapidshare, even though rapidshare users widely attacked by phishers every day.

Modifying *.exe files would be illegal but it’ll only effect if you're going to clime those .exe files had create by you and distributed among others through internet or any other way. Here I'm going to showing you the ability of changing the exe files without any knowledge about programming or using such software like dissemblers.

Executable files known exe. Editing exe is can surprise anybody. Method I’m going to showing here is based on tool called ResHack. A free tool which has ability of editing some aspect of exe files. Mainly this tool can be use to change the appearance of applications (interface, icons, release notes, product information and etc.)

First of all download the latest version of the Reshack from here.

Next unzip the ResHack archive into its subdir or any other folder. You don’t have to install this software. It is nice little piece of software which has enormous power of changing exe files.

Open ResHack and click File Open or press Ctrl+O to open a file. Browse for any file you need to edit, using resourcehacker you're able to edit *.exe, *.dll, *.ocx, *.scr and *.cpl files.

In the left side of the reshack screen a list will be open. We need to go through these sections and edit the exe file as we desire.

These sections can be vary by the file you're open, some files can be edit more depth and some are only allow to change the icon and other two or 3 areas.

Surely icon section can change in any exe file and RCData,Dialog,Menu,String are also can change most of the times.
